Cochrane Mosaic is a free, 12-month business education program for newcomers and immigrants in Cochrane and Rocky View County. Through hands-on learning, commercial kitchen access, and real market experiences, participants move from idea to income while building confidence and community connections. No cost to join. No business experience required.

This program is for you if…

You're a newcomer or immigrant

Anyone who self-identifies as a newcomer, immigrant, or refugee living in Cochrane or Rocky View County is welcome to apply.

You have a business idea

Whether it's a recipe, a craft, a skill, or a product, if you have an idea you want to explore, Mosaic gives you a place to test it.

You face barriers to starting

Language gaps, unfamiliarity with Canadian business norms, limited capital, or lack of confidence, we're here to help you navigate them.

You want community

Mosaic is built around learning together. You'll connect with other newcomer entrepreneurs who share your drive.

What participants receive

Business training

Weekly online and in-person sessions covering planning, finance, marketing, and Canadian business basics.

Commercial kitchen access

Use of a licensed commercial kitchen to develop and produce your food products safely. A fee applies for kitchen access — ask us for details.

Real market experience

Four live market events throughout the year to sell your products and meet your community.

Mentorship and support

Guidance from business advisors, partner organizations, and a supportive program team.
